EDM Drill & Hole Popper Capabilities Makes PPI Parts An Industry Leader In Manufacturing

When a machining job requires drilling, very fine holes, through a fragile or flexible work-piece, no other machine but EDM drill will do the trick. Electric Discharge Machines (EDM) works with a high-frequency electric current to spark/carve away tiny pieces of metals in a controlled way, to create the desired pattern. EDM machines are CNC controlled machines, in which the electrode acts as a cutting tool, and an inverted design is outlined on the workpiece. An EDM drill machines offer smooth and highly precise drilling, which is  hard to achieve even with a CNC machine. EDM Hole Popper machines are increasingly used for complex designing and fabrication of machine parts.

EDM machines were included as part of up gradation of machining capability by Precision Products Inc. a decade ago. Also, known as PPI Parts, the company offers four Camille's wire EDM machines and an EDM Hole Popper. The EDM Hole Popper uses wire diameters from 0.001 inches to 0.012 inches. The largest among the lot is Cut 300 with a submersible workstation. This eliminates minute deformations that are integral to heat treatment. The metal is just vaporized, so there is no need of deburring, leading to an extra smooth surface. There is no tool pressure, and it is possible to achieve very high tolerance and accuracy up to 2 microns. All EDM machines with PPI Parts have 4th axis machining ability. Four machine heads simultaneously work on a machine part and offer unmatched result. Moreover, PPI Parts is an ISO 9001-2008 company, committed to quality standards to the highest order. Each part is subjected to stringent quality check procedures.
