How To Source Extrusion Parts For Your Machines

Today’s precision engineering companies have to be fully equipped with the latest in CNC machines and possess capability for EDM machining and drilling in order to be able to produce extrusion parts of a complex nature. These resources need to be backed with professionally qualified engineering staff that can effectively look after the production of components that require micronic tolerance. Such complex and precision engineering parts are necessary not only for extrusion machines used in the textile industry but also other industries. These industries include premier sectors such as aerospace and defense as well as automotive and food & beverage.

The range of extrusion parts necessary in bulk by the textiles industry includes aspirators and ceramic guides, idler rolls and interlacing and texturing jets besides thread up tools. The parts that are necessary for extrusion machines include Barmag parts and Fare parts, Filteco parts and parts for Neumag, Plantex, Reiter, Sahm and STP/Impianti among several others. The parts for air entanglement machines include those of Gilbos, Belmont and Neumag while the parts for Heat Set and Twisting machines comprise of GVA parts, Superba parts, Sussen parts and Volkman parts.

These precision parts for extrusion machines can be ordered online. You can see the entire product range that a dealer is capable of supplying so that you can rely on one supplier while placing your bulk order. In this it is necessary to ensure that your supplier is backed by a manufacturer with the necessary resources and expertise. These are precision products and one cannot compromise with specifications and the standard of manufacture as well as the material and its properties.

Parts for Extrusion Machines and Testing for Heavy Metals

There are premier manufacturing companies that produce parts for extrusion machines of different makes. Some of these premier companies also have the resources for specialised activities such as melt pump refurbishment, EDM machining and current drilling, heavy metal testing, gearbox repair and laser measuring and extrusion barrel alignment, as well. These companies, such as Precision Products Inc (PPI), are invariably ISO certified and possess excellent quality CNC machines besides suitable backup in terms of metrology and metallurgical analysis.

PPI has the capabilities of large scale manufacture of extrusion parts. These include aspirators and ceramic guides, idler rolls and interlacing jets besides texturing jets and thread up tools. Its capacity in respect of extrusion machines extends to parts for makes that include Barmag, Cognisint Winders, Fare, Filteco and Mackie. PPI also manufactures parts for Neumag, Plantex, Sahm and STP Impianti. This company has been involved directly with the extrusion industry since 1993. PPI refurbishes precision gear driven melt pumps in addition to extrusion parts that include breaker plates and spinerettes.

Precision Products Inc also offers various metallurgical test facilities to customers. These include testing in respect of metals and plastics to determine whether these contain heavy metals such as arsenic or lead among others. Heavy metal testing of this kind is very economical and can be carried out at either the facility of PPI or that of the customer. This of course depends on the size of the part being tested. XRF technology is used for the test procedure and the device is portable. It can test more than 350 standard alloys. The detailed elemental analysis of alloys not in the database is also given. The files are admissible in court and the operators are qualified and certified.

For All Your Precision Machining Needs

Technological advancements have brought today’s engineering capabilities to a very high degree in precision and fine tolerance levels. Precision engineering companies such as Precision Products Inc (PPI) are now at the forefront in the manufacture of the best of precision products for diverse industries. Some of these include medical and defense and textiles and firearms or plastic and food & beverage besides jet turbine fuel systems and aerospace. In order to deliver products with high precision, PPI, an ISO 9001 certified company, has high quality resources in terms of CNC turning machines, EDM machining and current drilling as well as high precision machining capabilities.

The high precision machining capabilities of PPI are because of its Mikron machine that enables the machining operation up to a tolerance level of +/- 0.0001” on a production basis. The Mikron also produces surface finish of a superior order when compared to traditional CNC milling. PPI also has the latest equipment from Mazak and Fadal to meet CNC milling services. All the milling machines are equipped with 4th axis attachments. They are capable of tolerances down to +/- 0.0003”. Further, PPI also has five axes CNC machining capabilities on two Mazak multi-tasking machines that offer all the functions of both turning and milling machines built into one high-precision CNC machine.

The CNC turning capabilities of PPI are because of different lathes that have capacities between 17” and 20” diameter and between 24” and 37” in length. The CNC lathes can hold tolerance levels down to +/- 0.0003”. The EDM machine with PPI on the other hand can hold tolerances of +/- 0.000080” that is 80 millionths of an inch. With such resources PPI can meet all precision engineering commitments for the industry.

Engineering company with Expertise in 4th axis EDM and Extruder parts

Electrical Discharge Machining or EDM is a highly accurate form of machining. The basic principle of EDM is to erode the work piece using alternating sparks of electricity with the piece submerged in a dielectric fluid such as deionized water or dielectric oil. This fluid has multiple usages such as providing inert atmosphere, flushing away the debris and keeping the temperature cool and stable. Precision Products Inc (PPI) has 4th axis EDM capabilities on its four machines. This capability offers PPI the ability to make parts that are not normally associated with EDM. There are several occasions when only a 4th axis EDM is useful in the production of complex parts. These parts require superior finish and can be heat-treated before machining. Some of the industries served by these machines include aerospace, jet turbine fuel systems and the defense industry.

Production of staple extruder parts is another area that is the strong point for PPI. PPI has been leading in the manufacture of machine parts for the biggest extrusion companies in the carpet industry. This ISO 9001-Certified Company has been making not only the texturizing and interlacing jets but also manufactures a large line of extrusion die parts. These staple extruder parts include funnel caps and distributors, breaker plates as well as spinnerets for majority of the popular extrusion lines that include Neumag, Barmag, Fare and Filteco. One can buy staple extruder parts from a number of dealers but one must confirm whether the concerned manufacturer possesses the requisite skills in precision engineering to be able to produce the extruder parts of high standards. In case needed PPI has the capability of manufacturing custom designed parts, as well.

Understanding Extrusion Machines And EDM Hole Popper

There are tons of things around us that are precisely identical in shape, size and appearance. All these products have been manufactured using extrusion machines. These are high precision machines that ensure mass production of products in a quick and cost-effective manner. In fact, most companies into production of plastic products prefer using extrusion machines over traditional methods since these machines ensure higher productivity and are also employable for recycling of waste plastic materials. For example, the grinding extrusion machine would also grind large plastic waste into pieces that can be subsequently used in extrusion process involving screw and barrel.

EDM Hole Popper, on the other hand, is one of the equipment used in high precision machines. EDM is an acronym that stands for Electrical Discharge Machining. It is also known as small hole EDM drill. It uses electrode-based electrical sparks to erode hard metals precisely into desired shape and size. The entire process takes place with the metal submerged in di-electric oil or de-ionized water. Each time the current passes through the electrode, a square wave of electrical spark hits the exact coordinates of least resistance on the hard metal eroding it hence. The current is then switched off to let the debris flush away. This is done several times in a span of a second so as to advance the electrode deeper into the cut of the metal. The EDM Hole Popper works much like how a bolt of lightning impacts a tree on the ground, hitting it severely before hitting the ground.
