Understanding Extrusion Machines And EDM Hole Popper

There are tons of things around us that are precisely identical in shape, size and appearance. All these products have been manufactured using extrusion machines. These are high precision machines that ensure mass production of products in a quick and cost-effective manner. In fact, most companies into production of plastic products prefer using extrusion machines over traditional methods since these machines ensure higher productivity and are also employable for recycling of waste plastic materials. For example, the grinding extrusion machine would also grind large plastic waste into pieces that can be subsequently used in extrusion process involving screw and barrel.

EDM Hole Popper, on the other hand, is one of the equipment used in high precision machines. EDM is an acronym that stands for Electrical Discharge Machining. It is also known as small hole EDM drill. It uses electrode-based electrical sparks to erode hard metals precisely into desired shape and size. The entire process takes place with the metal submerged in di-electric oil or de-ionized water. Each time the current passes through the electrode, a square wave of electrical spark hits the exact coordinates of least resistance on the hard metal eroding it hence. The current is then switched off to let the debris flush away. This is done several times in a span of a second so as to advance the electrode deeper into the cut of the metal. The EDM Hole Popper works much like how a bolt of lightning impacts a tree on the ground, hitting it severely before hitting the ground.
