PPI Parts Employs Excellent Machining Capabilities Using EDMs

Precision Products Inc., is a leading company engaged in designing, fabrication, and supply of the best grade sophisticated machine parts. The company, also known as PPI Parts, has been actively working since 1994 and emerged with high proficiency  in the domain to manufacture intricate machine parts made from a range of materials, including various metals and plastic, to exact physical dimensions and material specifications, even surpassing OEM standards. Due to the superior quality of the products, PPI Parts has been utilized by hi-end industries, including Aerospace, Aviation, Defense, Marine, Textile, Food and Beverages, Printing. PPI Parts gained this advantage by the acquisition of state-of-art machines including CAD/CAM Designing, CNC Milling and Turning, 4th Axis EDM Drilling and 5th Axis machining, material selection using X-Ray Fluoroscopy and much other hi-tech equipment.

Electric Discharge Machines (EDM) are CNC controlled machines used in designing and fabrication of complex machine parts using electric discharge to erode a work piece to particular shape. EDM machining is a highly accurate manufacturing process. EDM machines with PPI Parts have a provision of keeping the work piece dipped in a liquid, requiring no heat treatment after the job. The process, thus, delivers very  high dimensional accuracy to the order of +/- 0.0005 inch. The 4th axis EDM machine performs with four heads simultaneously working independent of each other to handle very complex tasks. EDM machines are, therefore, used for creating smooth straight drills with a superior surface finish, without deburring. Such machines are required in making fuel system components, spinnerets, and many other extrusion parts for synthetic fiber industry.

PPI Parts is an ISO 9001-2008 certified company which committed to maintaining a high standard of material and accuracy to meet customers’ needs. The company’s ethical business practices and customer-centric approach is central to its functioning.

EDM with 4th Axis Capability Offers Fine Surface Finish & Intricate Extrusion Parts Designing

The yarn and filament extrusion industry has evolved as a highly-advanced field incorporating newer technologies and hi-end parts. These vital parts are designed for specific applications that need state-of-art machines to fabricate. Precision Industries Inc. was established in 1994 with an aim to meet growing need of complex textile machine parts. The company remained devoted to its cause even after undergoing diversification a decade ago. Also known as PPI Parts, the company has developed a vast machining base including an array of CNC machines, EDM Drills, 4th Axis EDM and EDM Hole Poppers. The company has emerged as a key supplier of crucial textile machine parts to the carpet industry.

The Electric Discharge Machining (EDM) involves spark erosion of a metallic workpiece. The electric spark vaporizes tiny chunks of metal to give the desired shape with very fine corners. The Wire EDM machines use a fine electrical wire as a cutting tool. The Wire EDM machine is a versatile tool for making very fine holes in fragile workpieces. Spinnerets, an integral part of the Spin Pack in the Extrusion Process, have very fine conical holes of the order of a few microns (millionth of a meter) diameters. Other extrusion parts, like texturizing jets, have very fine holes too, for strengthening the filaments against breakage. EDM Drill offers a  quick and accurate machining of precise holes in an arranged fashion for a particular application.  All EDM machines with PPI Parts,  have 4th Axis  EDM machining capabilities.  An additional dimension of machining translates to unmatched surface finish, otherwise not possible even with CNC machines.

PPI Parts maintains rigorous quality standards to ensure that each part produced by the company is made to  high dimensional and material standards.

EDM Drill & Hole Popper Capabilities Makes PPI Parts An Industry Leader In Manufacturing

When a machining job requires drilling, very fine holes, through a fragile or flexible work-piece, no other machine but EDM drill will do the trick. Electric Discharge Machines (EDM) works with a high-frequency electric current to spark/carve away tiny pieces of metals in a controlled way, to create the desired pattern. EDM machines are CNC controlled machines, in which the electrode acts as a cutting tool, and an inverted design is outlined on the workpiece. An EDM drill machines offer smooth and highly precise drilling, which is  hard to achieve even with a CNC machine. EDM Hole Popper machines are increasingly used for complex designing and fabrication of machine parts.

EDM machines were included as part of up gradation of machining capability by Precision Products Inc. a decade ago. Also, known as PPI Parts, the company offers four Camille's wire EDM machines and an EDM Hole Popper. The EDM Hole Popper uses wire diameters from 0.001 inches to 0.012 inches. The largest among the lot is Cut 300 with a submersible workstation. This eliminates minute deformations that are integral to heat treatment. The metal is just vaporized, so there is no need of deburring, leading to an extra smooth surface. There is no tool pressure, and it is possible to achieve very high tolerance and accuracy up to 2 microns. All EDM machines with PPI Parts have 4th axis machining ability. Four machine heads simultaneously work on a machine part and offer unmatched result. Moreover, PPI Parts is an ISO 9001-2008 company, committed to quality standards to the highest order. Each part is subjected to stringent quality check procedures.
