Significance of The Sucker Gun

Handheld and wall mount yarn aspirators are required for extrusion of BCF, POY, CF, tape yarn and filament and multi-filament yarns. There are precision engineering companies such as Precision Products Inc. (PPI) that produce these in a very wide range of products. The aspirators produced by PPI offer a viable and economical alternative to the European models that are more expensive. These yarn aspirators are used in the spinning of PP and nylon besides PET, PE and PEG PTFE as well as PU, PVC and PVP and several other polymers. These yarn aspirators are also known as sucker guns and are commonly used in several extrusion applications for string up and doffing of melt spun yarns.

The yarn aspirators are made of a 100% billet aluminium body. It features an easy to use butterfly valve that allows the operator to adjust the airflow so that ease of use is ensured. Further, the butterfly valve also prevents operator damage that is very common with the external, ball valves.

The internal jets of the sucker gun are made of hardened tool steel that ensures long life. This is against the inferior OEM aspirators that use aluminium that is more susceptible to wear. These aspirators produced by PPI can easily handle up to 50,000 total denier and speeds that go up to 8000 meters per minute depending of course on the model. PPI offers several different models of these aspirators with diverse tube lengths and tip materials such as plain steel and Delrin and tool steel inserts for very demanding operations. Also supplied are brass tubes and fully covered aspirator tubes to prevent damage to either the aspirator or to any adjacent equipment. All these aspirators are affordable and there is a model with a built in cutting tip as well.
